About the Author

Sudip Nath, a software engineer by profession and writer by passion, was born in 1966 in Sonarpur, West Bengal. Educated at Baikunthapur School, Harinavi School, Pathabhavan, and IIT Kharagpur, he rediscovered his love for writing in 2013 after years away from poetry. His first poetry collection, Nirbashito Kobita, was published in 2016, followed by stories and poems in various magazines. His 2017 short story Moner Gobhire (Desh Patrika) earned acclaim in India and abroad, and his debut novel Mofaswaler Messi (2018) was widely appreciated. Stories like Santan (Desh Patrika) and Bhroon (Sananda Patrika), written under a pseudonym, further cemented his reputation. From poetry to novels, Sudip’s versatile pen continues to inspire.

About the Translator

Born in India, Anjan Das completed his formal education at IIT Kharagpur. Having worked in India’s government and private sectors, he is now settled in the USA as a professional in the information technology industry. He is now out of India, but India is always with him. This prompted him to take up the effort of translating a fine book of a simple suburban boy’s aspirations and struggles, who finally realized his dream of taking Indian football to the world stage – a true-blue Indian success story, fictional but highly inspiring. As a first published work, this has been a labor of love for him, offered to the lovers and dreamers of Indian football.
