About the Author

Mohammad Reza Yousefi was born in October 1953 in Hamedan. He earned his bachelor’s degree in history from the Faculty of Literature and Humanities at the University of Tehran. Yousefi is a renowned Iranian author of children’s and young adult literature. He has also served as a board member of the Iranian Association of Writers for Children and Youth.
For over three decades, Yousefi has been writing for children and young adults of various age groups. His works cover a wide range of themes, including child labor, children with special needs, and the history and culture of Iran. He has also written scripts for films, plays, and theoretical discussions on children’s literature. In addition, he has rewritten and adapted classical Persian literature such as the Shahnameh for children. Some of his works draw upon Persian folk tales.
He has received several accolades, including the IBBY Honour Diploma from the Netherlands, the Book of the Year Award from the Islamic Republic of Iran, and the Best Book Award from the Iranian Children’s Book Council.
