Pradip Acharya, an alumnus of Delhi University is a former head of the department of English, Cotton College in Guwahati. He is an eminent academician and a prolific translator in Assamese and English. He has some well-known translations to his credit, like Ancient Gongs and When Seas Meet (translated from Assamese) and Krishnanga Kabir Kabita (translated into Assamese).
