About the Books:
1. Turn Your Back on the Night
This anthology of translated poems aims to present English-speaking readers with poems and voices that enable them to deepen their appreciation of the wealth of poetry in the French language from the African continent and serve as a point of departure to explore the writers in more detail.
2. The Grace of My Home
Poetry starts at the border where the narrative stops. It ventures into regions of the unconscious where nothing is clear or distinctly defined; it navigates through the fog, collecting impressions, intuitions, and diffused emotions; it gives up the clarity of prose, with its extended metaphors, its inner monologues, and the “clear enigma” of its symbols, becoming lost in a darker and more dangerous world, where ideas are fleetingly illuminated by flashes of intuition and by sudden and frightening insights.
3. Light the Night Sky
There are six voices, as strong as they are distinct, which resort to memory (collective and individual), marked by trauma, in order to transpose, in different poetic formulas, revolts, dilemmas, hesitations, frustrations, anxieties, and anguishes of contemporary man.
