About the Author

Winner of the Sahitya Academy Yuva Award – 2015, renowned short story writer and novelist Indira Dangi is a master storyteller, and a powerful and distinct voice of contemporary Hindi literature. With more than 50 short stories, four novels, and several plays to her credit; she has emerged as a vital force in the modern Indian literary landscape within just a little over 10 years since her debut. Dangi has managed to find a way of writing that is enjoyable for the general readers and satisfactory for the critics in equal measure.

Her works of Drama are staged in the USA, Nepal, and other countries. Her works of fiction have been translated into Nepali, English, and other Indian Languages. She is also an active Professor and researcher steadfastly committed to the popularization of literature and humanity in the community through popular lectures and community engagement programs. She lives and works in Bhopal, MP, India.

About the Translator

Rituparna Mukherjee teaches English and Communication Studies at Jogamaya Devi College and is a research scholar in West-African literature at IIIT Bhubaneswar. She is a published poet, short fiction writer and a passionate translator. Her work has been published in many international magazines of repute. She translates Bengali and Hindi fiction into English and is a content editor at The Antonym magazine.

She is the chief editor at The Antonym Magazine. Her first complete work in translation, The One-Legged, translated from Sakyajit Bhattacharya’s Ekanorey has been published by Antonym Collection publishing in January 2024.
