About the Author


Abhijit Bera is the 2017 Krittibas Award Winner for writing Poetry in the Bengali language. His poems have appeared in several publications, online and in print, including The Signpost, London, Miletus, USA, The Antonym, Asia, The Anandabazar Patrika, Desh, The Wall, India, The Prachya Review, Bangladesh, Gard Siir Dergisi, Turkey and others. Abhijit was invited to participate in the 150th birth Anniversary Celebration of Gandhi by Sahitya Academy, Book Fair organized by Bangladesh, and The International Kala Ghoda Art Festival, Mumbai among others. His works have been translated into Hindi, Russian, and Turkish language. He has four major publications under his credit. Abhijit is one of the editors of Krittibas Magazine since 2019.

About The Translator

Pritha Banerjee has completed her Masters in English Language & Literature from University of Delhi. She was the recipient of the National Essay-writing Award from SREI Foundation in 2014. Currently acting as a writer and translator for the Sankrityayan-Kosambi Study Circle, her latest publications include articles in ‘South Asian Women’s Narratives: Literatures of Their Own’ by Cambridge Scholars Publishing, FIPRESCI India, Muse India, Pashyantee: A Bilingual Journal, and Anustup Prakashani. Her upcoming translation of Rahul Sankrityayan’s ‘Dimaagi Gulaami’ is to be published by LeftWord Books.

About The Editor

Bishnupriya Chowdhuri is a Bengali artist and writer trying to find her roots across continents and oceans. She weaves hybrid pieces about memory, women, and bodies using what is often an awkward if not unsavory tangle of Bangla and English. She holds an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Central Florida. She is a collector of girl names, pretty pebbles, and family recipes. Her address keeps changing.

About The Illustrator

Proiti Roy resides in Shantiniketan. She graduated on Fine Arts from Kala Bhavana. After working in the advertising industry, she now creates books for children, teaches them various artistic techniques and the use of recycled materials. She works as an artist and designer with various publications and organizations. In 2017, she won the Big Little Book award. Her love for animals and their conservation is another significant passion of hers.
