Dr. Kaberi Kar Gupta is a scientist affiliated with the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences and the Founding Director of a citizen science initiative, Urban Slender Loris Project a first of its kind globally. As an interdisciplinary scholar, her current work focuses on nature education, environmental equity, community-based conservation, and women’s issues in India and the US field research. She received the Paul Shin Award for Unsung Heroes of Science Education and Communication from the Coalition for Public Understanding of Science (COPUS) in 2019. Kaberi co-founded Central California Cafe Scientifique in Fresno, California. She hosted radio shows and interviews on radio, print, and social media on various issues of conservation and science education. She hosts a weekly broadcasting program on Instagram, Women of the Wild India. She loves working at the intersection of science, education, performing and visual arts, technology, and nature for the climate crisis.
Dr. Anurima Chanda is an Assistant Professor in the English Department at Birsa Munda College, University of North Bengal. She completed her PhD from JNU on Indian English Childre’s Literature. She was a pre-doctoral DAAD fellow at the University of Würzburg and a SUSI 2023 Fellow at the University of Montana. She is also a literary translator and children’s author. Some of her notable works include How I Became a Writer (Stree Samya and Sage, 2022) and Women of India (DK Publishing, 2019).
