About the Translator

Anindita Kar is a literary translator of Assamese and Bengali texts into English. A seasoned and noted writer of original poetry and short fiction herself, she feels the need and urgency to bring the rich literary culture and heritage of Assam and Bengal out to the world at large through her translation. Her words can and will be found in India’s premier magazines such as Muse India, Sahitya Akademi’s Indian LiteratureThe Hind. In her own words, she translates like one says one’s prayers.
